Loss To Rutgers
The Oswego State Mens Club Hockey Team lost a pair of games
to a tough Rutgers University team this past weekend at the Campus Center
Arena.. The first game saw the Lakers being outscored by Rutgers 7-2. Scoring
goals for Oswego were Jordan Romano and Tim Rinck with assists being credited
to Greg Distin, Chris Covel, Brandon Clark and Brad Kervin. Sophomore
goaltender Mike Reid had 61 saves for Oswego.
The following night saw the Scarlet Knights once again
dominating the Lakers by a score of 6-1. The lone Laker goal was scored by
Jordan Romano from Nick Atkins. Oswego goaltender, Anthony Sellitti stopped 54
shots for the Lakers.
Despite the losses, Oswego is third in the NECHL behind
Cornell and Rutgers. They are hoping to get back in the win column this weekend
as they host Ithaca on Friday night and St. Bonaventure on Saturday night. Both games start at 7:00 and are played at
the Campus Center Arena. Admission to
all Oswego State ACHA games is free.
The team is dedicating the 2009-2010 season to the
servicemen and women who are serving in the Armed Forces of the United States
and are wearing “Support Our Troops” yellow ribbon decals on their helmets in
honor of their service.
The Lakers are a D1 ACHA team and member of the NECHL. For more information, complete schedule,
