After
4 nights of tryouts, the Oswego State ACHA D1 men’s hockey team will be
opening their 2009-2010 season on Saturday as they host the second
annual Alumni Game at the Campus Center Rink . The puck will drop at
6:00 and admission to the game is free.
Several local players
have made this year’s squad-Senior Greg Distin is from Fulton and
Junior Eric Zerrahn, Sophomore Andrew Lazzaro and newcomer Sophomore
Greg King are from Oswego. 55 players tried out for the Lakers this
year and the team was narrowed down to 31 skaters.
The Lakers are
members of the ACHA and is one of only 51 teams nationwide to be
Division 1. They also are in the Northeast Collegiate Hockey League
which also includes Rutgers, Penn-State Berks, Binghamton, Cornell,
Cortland, Ithaca and St. Bonaventure as members.
Home games are
played at the Campus Center Rink on the Oswego State Campus and
admission to the Lakers games is always free. For more
