The Oswego State Men’s Club Hockey team ended their first semester on a positive note as they defeated Mohawk Valley Community College 7-3 at the Campus Center Rink recently. Lakers scoring goals were Jamie Shutts (Fulton) (3), Eric Zerrahn (Oswego), Tim Paulson, Nick Atkins (Auburn) and Ethen Ericksen. Assisting on the Oswego goals were Zerrahn (2), Fabian Loeprick, James Mitchell, Chris Cavanaugh, Shutts (2), Brad Kervin and Chase Collins. Freshmen goaltenders Mike Reid and Kevin Smalley shared the netminding duties with a total of 67 saves.
The team is off until January 5 when they will be returning to campus early from the semester break to get ready for the second half of their season. The Lakers will host Canton in a non-league game on Friday, January 9 at 7:00 p.m. They will travel to RIT the following night for another non-league contest.
