The Oswego State Men’s Club Hockey Team opened its 2008-09 season traveling
to D2 national powerhouse Siena College recently for a non-league game The Saints
defeated Oswego 8-2 in a very physical contest. The Lakers scored the first goal
as Dustin Kennedy (Oswego Admirals) found the back of the net on a pass from Eric
Zerrahn(Oswego). Siena scored the next 8 goals but the third period belonged to
Oswego as the Lakers shut down the Siena offense and scored the final goal of
the game as Zerrahn found the back of the net with assists being credited to Brandon
Clark and Jamie Shutts(Fulton). Oswego goaltenders, both freshmen, Anthony Selletti
and Mike Reid split the goaltending duties with Selletti making 31 saves and Reid
having 6 saves.
The Lakers will be hosting Penn State- Berks on Saturday, October 4 at 7:00 and
on Sunday, October 5 at 12:30 at the Campus Center R ink on the Oswego State Campus.
This will be the first NECHL contest for Oswego as they begin the defense of their
championship.
