The SUNY Oswego Men's Club Hockey team improved its record to 8 – 2 by completing a two game sweep of Penn State-Berks this past weekend. The team traveled to Reading, PA on Saturday to take on the Nittany Lions on their home ice and defeated them by a score of 4 -2 . Scoring for Oswego were Ryan Hawthorne (Baldwinsville), Dustin Kennedy (Oswego Admirals), Brad Kervin and Tim Rinck. Assisting on the Oswego goals were Ethen Erickson, Jake Wiemer and Jordan Romano. Goalie Mike Whittaker (Cortland) had 21 saves for Oswego.
The two teams faced off again the next day and Oswego once again defeated Penn State 3 – 2. Oswego goals were scored by defensemen Greg Distin (2) (Fulton) and Capt. Nick Leuthauser while assists were credited to Tim Rinck, Chase Collins, Dustin Kennedy and Jamie Shutts ( Fulton). Goalie Greg Feiden had 26 saves for the Lakers.
Coach Jay Peacock (Mexico) credited both goalies for doing an outstanding job in the net for Oswego.
Oswego will travel to Binghamton on Friday night for a league game and will then host RIT on Saturday night at the Campus Center Rink at 7:00. On Sunday, Mohawk Valley Community College will visit Oswego. The puck will be dropped at 1:00. Both games are non- league games. Admission is free.

Oswego has the privilege of hosting the NECHL championships at the Campus Center Rink on February 22 – 24. More information will be available at a later date.
