November 16, 2009 Split A Pair With Berks

The Oswego State Mens Club Hockey team traveled to Penn State Berks this past weekend and split a pair of games with the Nitttany Lions. The first game saw the Lakers jumping out to a 2 – 0 lead but Penn State scored the next 3 goals to go ahead 3-2. November 10, 2009 Split The Weekend

The Oswego State Mens Club Hockey team went 1-1 in recent NECHL action at the Campus Center Rink.

Ithaca College traveled to Oswego and the Lakers defeated the Bombers 8-1. The game was close through 2 periods but then Oswego exploded for 5 goals in the third period. Scoring for Oswego were Mike Renick, Chase Collins, Mike Steinke, Brad Kervin, James Hollowell, Chris Covel (2) and Jordan Romano. Laker assists were credited to Rob Lippolis (2), Collins, Tim Rinck(2), James Mitchell, Brian Tosti, Greg Distin , Tony Verdon, Nick Atkins and Greg King. November 3, 2009 Loss To Rutgers

The Oswego State Mens Club Hockey Team lost a pair of games to a tough Rutgers University team this past weekend at the Campus Center Arena.. The first game saw the Lakers being outscored by Rutgers 7-2. Scoring goals for Oswego were Jordan Romano and Tim Rinck with assists being credited to Greg Distin, Chris Covel, Brandon Clark and Brad Kervin. Sophomore goaltender Mike Reid had 61 saves for Oswego.

October 27, 2009 Oswego State Lakers 2009-2010 Season Opening Strong

The Oswego State Lakers opened their 2009-2010 season strong by winning five of their first seven games. This is especially gratifying to the coaches as all games were played on the road. One of the teams that Oswego defeated was nationally ranked #20 Duquesne University , Pittsburgh, PA.

October 19, 2009 Oswego State Lakers defeat #20 Duquesne

The Oswego State Mens Club Hockey team traveled to Pittsburgh this past weekend for two games with Duquesne University and came away with a win and a loss. The Dukes are ranked #20 nationally and are members of the Mid America Conference of the ACHA. The first game was won by the Lakers as they defeated Duquesne 6-5. Laker freshman Chris Covel started the scoring for the Lakers 6 minutes into the period. He scored his second goal of the game with 16 seconds left in the first period. Duquesne then went up 3-2 and Laker Jordan Romano evened the score with just 26 seconds left in the second period. The third period saw Oswego State’s Adam Webster scoring along with Nick Atkins. Duquesne evened the score by scoring two goals but with just 2 seconds left in regulation senior James Mitchell put the Lakers ahead for good. October 12, 2009 Oswego Defeats the Ithaca Bombers in Overtime

The Oswego State Mens Club Hockey team traveled to Lynah Arena on the Cornell University Campus recently and came away with a hard fought win against the Ithaca College Bombers. Senior James Mitchell scored, unassisted, with 1:33 remaining in the first period to put the Lakers on top, 1-0. Ithaca came back in the second scoring two quick goals but Oswego’s Adam Webster tied it up with assists being credited to Brad Kervin and Brandon Clark. The Bombers then went ahead 3-2 but Laker freshman Chris Covel , on passes from Nick Atkins and James Mitchell, made it 3-3 with 6 minutes remaining in the period. The game stayed tied at the end of regulation and ACHA rules dictate that there has to be a 5 minute sudden death overtime period... (read more)
October 6, 2009 Oswego State Mens Club Hockey News

The Oswego State Mens Club Hockey team opened its regular season by dropping a tough fought contest at Binghamton, losing 7-5 in an NECHL game. Scoring their first Laker goals were freshman Chris Covel (2) and Junior Rob Lippolis while veterans Jordan Romano and Nick Atkins also scored. Assists were credited to James Mitchell, Atkins, Romano, Adam Webster (2), Matt Saramak and Brad Kervin. Anthony Sellitti had 20 saves for the Lakers. Oswego enjoyed a large number of fans who traveled to the game. The following night, Oswego traveled to Syracuse to face the Orangemen during their Homecoming Weekend and the Lakers came away with a hard fought victory, defeating Syracuse 5-3. Adam Webster started the scoring with Jordan Romano, Tim Rinck and Chris Covel (2) adding goals. Assisting were Saramak, Atkins and newcomers Ryan Farrell and Mike Steinke. September 28st, 2009 2009-2010 Alumni Game

The 2009-10 Oswego State Mens Club Hockey team and their alumni played in the second annual alumni game and like last year, the game ended in a 7 – 7 tie after regulation but unlike last year, the Lakers defeated the alumni  in  3-2 shootout.  Scoring goals were Matt Saramak, Mike Renick (2), Greg Distin (Fulton), Chase Collins, Eric Zerrahn (Oswego) and Adam Webster with assists credited to Chris Covel, Jordan Romano, Ryan McAleer and Greg Molfese Goals  scored during the shoot out were by...
