Your annual gift is an ongoing "vote of support" for Oswego and the value of your degree.  Alumni participation impacts:

• Our students -- less than 20% of our operating budget comes from New York state tax dollars.  For the rest, we rely on loyal supporters who provide the financial basis for an excellent education.
• Strengthen the college's reputation -- alumni participation helps boost the college's national rankings.  External evaluators like U.S. News and World Report use alumni particpation rates when calculating rankings.  
• Value of an Oswego degree -- Parents and perspective students look at national rankings and alumni participation rates as indications of how satisfied alumni are with the school and the quality of their degree.  Your on-going participation ultimately adds value to an Oswego degree and enhances the reputation of our alumni as viable and competitive leaders in the 21st century global workforce.
• Financial strength -- Annual giving is an essential resource for the college. Corporations and foundations require alumni participation rates in proposal requests because they believe their philanthropic or sponsored-research dollars should go to an insitution with proven results.   Alumni satisfaction is a key measure.
