Delivering Exemplary Customer Service

Finance and accounting are the universal languages of business. This updates course introduces student to financial terminology, relates financial measures to operating information, enables the student to understand and apply financial measures to operating performance, and ties all of this to the current business environment. Today's managers, whether supervisors or senior executives, are expected to understand and use financial consequences of actions taken by them or by their department or team, and understand and use financial and accounting terminology-the common language of business measurement. The course treats finance and accounting from the perspective of users of financial information-it enhances their ability to communicate effectively with subordinates, other managers, senior executives, and accounting and finance professionals. It offers managers the ability to use and analyze financial information to improve the performance of their operations and to identify-and avoid potential problems.

This online course is designed to help you achieve a more professional writing style. Understand how to employ writing and editing techniques to strengthen your writing style and identify the key components of a well-written business document. This course provides the "how to" keys of writing-from putting the first words on paper to the final polishing and proofreading. Learn how to edit your writing to improve clarity, cut excess words, use transitional phrases, recognize and correct run-on sentences and overcome procrastination and impulsive writing.
Managing Multiple Projects
Course Objectives: Participants will learn how to project life cycle issues in programs; leverage resources, use advanced scheduling techniques for managing multiple projects; monitor and control risks; complete estimates and manage projects under budget.
Let's face it-who among us has only a single project? Multiple projects are the norm, not the exception, and there are very good reasons why this is so. A lot of projects simply aren't big enough to justify the investment of a full-time project manager: having only one is impractical. Depending on the availability of resources, a multiple project environment can accomplish substantial work while lowering the overhead burden of project management by consolidating processes.
Not only will this course help you learn to plan and organize your work, it will also help you learn how to influence other people who may not report to you in an official supervisory capacity, and how to get results.
Planning & Leading Productive Meetings
Course Objective: Gain the skills to conduct meetings that result in better decision making , broader buy-in and clear conflict resolution. Learn to identify what meetings can and cannot accomplish; assess the quality of meetings in your organization; uncover the true cost of meetings; develop guidelines for all types of meetings: staff meetings, project teams, cross-departmental and cross- functional meetings, information sharing, and impromptu and informal meetings; practice effective decision-making in meetings; identify guidelines for gaining consensus; develop effective facilitation skills; develop strategies for handling a challenging group; list techniques for meeting follow-up and action planning; describe effective uses of media.
This course focuses on the organizational and interpersonal skills you will need to lead highly productive meetings. You will see how these skills apply to routine staff meetings, cross-functional or problem-solving meetings, impromptu get-togethers, and more formal information sharing.
This course gives substantial attention to the key role of the meeting leader, offering practical guidance on how to develop the proper mindset, manage the process, and use the best decision-making tools and facilitation skills. It also covers in full detail the dynamic issues of planning, conducting, follow-up, and meeting evaluation, with special attention paid to group dynamics and the effective use of media tools.

Sharpen Your Business Writing Skills
Course Objective: Employ techniques to research, draft, compose, and edit professional documents. Follow guidelines for writing appropriate and effective e-mail and learn to conduct on-line research.
Through interactive exercises, you'll acquire the techniques that professional writers use to research, draft, compose, and edit their work. Examples and checklists will keep you on track as you practice writing better letters, memos, proposals, reports, and e-mail (with its own rules and etiquette). If you struggle to find the words and tone appropriate for given situations, you‘ll appreciate the advice on selecting language that works. Once you've completed this course, your writing will be more effective, polished, and direct. Human resource law is a complex, confusing compilation of federal, state, county and city laws and ordinances cured in the crucible of the courtroom. The Legal Side of HR Practice leads human resources professionals, managers, supervisors, and students through the legal maze to an understanding of HR law fundamentals. The course is presented in an easy-to-understand style and filled with workplace examples and step-by-step explanations.
