Project-led Green Belt Training
SUNY Oswego Metro Center is partnering with GELRAD, LLC to deliver
Lean Six Sigma Project-led Green Belt Training in the spring of 2013.
Hands-on Project-led Training is proven to be the most time-effective method of learning and retaining Lean Six Sigma concepts, while engaging participant's hearts, heads, and hands. A certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt practitioner will select a relevant project and lead the entire class through the traditional DMAIC methodology, tool selection, tollgate reviews, and Kaizen work-outs.
Lean focuses on the elimination of waste within a manufacturing or transactional process. Participants will identify customer value add, non-value add, and business value add within a process. Participants will also learn what a Value Stream Map is and how to conduct a Kaizen event.
Six Sigma focuses on the reduction of process variation from the customer's perspective. Participants will learn the standard six sigma methodology DMAIC, (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control), and how to apply each step through an instructor-led project. They will learn to define a problem, capture the Voice of the Customer (VOC), establish a baseline, analyze data including cause and effect charts and root cause techniques, select improvement alternatives, and establish an ongoing monitoring and control program.
Lean Six Sigma combines the essence of Lean's waste elimination and Six Sigma's variance reduction while focusing on customer value, right first time (RFT) quality and data-driven improvements.
