Women's Empowerment Series

Phoenix Center Building

This empowerment series is delivered in an environment of support and camaraderie, we focus on enriching personal and professional aspects of our lives and building leadership skills to support success.

More than ever, women are searching for balance and fulfillment in their personal and professional lives. The reality is that these two worlds are intertwined, a symbiotic relationship, with one world affecting the other. Using a holistic aproach, we explore some basic principles that universally apply to both worlds.

Tools and techniques are introduced and practiced with the goal of changing mindset and behavior.  Sessions compliment and build on one another in a cohesive progression, however each session has a specific focus and can stand alone.

Session Descriptions:

Well Being:
This session focuses on wellbeing, and developing skills and methods to handle stressful situations.  We discuss health and wellness in terms of physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing, and how this impacts and connects us to the world around us.  We sample practices that help alleviate the physical effects of stress, and we examine and come to terms with our biggest internal adversaries:  judgment, resentment, worry and regret.  We set goals that will help us to achieve inner peace, which is necessary in order to survive and thrive in our personal and professional lives.

Rejuvenation
This session focuses on resilience:  finding the strength to carry on and move forward in the face of adversity.  Resilience is the characteristic most associated with success.  Here, we reflect on our interpersonal interactions and identify areas or situations where we become stuck or overwhelmed.  We use a variety of tools to overcome resistance, conflict, and external barriers that impede our progress, including coping mechanisms, interpersonal skills, and influence strategies.  We identify areas for improvement, set goals, and use our new skills to get past difficulties that inhibit our growth and performance as leaders. We also use practices derived from Asian healing techniques to address physical, emotional, and mental aspects of our being that build energy levels, increase the metabolism, and harness our inner power.

GrowthGrowth
This session focuses on positively influencing the current organizational culture, and encouraging others to do the same.  Identifying ways to replicate ourselves and teach new skills to others demonstrates accountability for implementing what we've learned, and giving back to the organization.  This is the culminating step in creating a learning organization; an organization that values the individual and allows individuals to take responsibility for the future improvement of their workplace.

Self- Awareness and Reflection
This session focuses on awareness, communicating, and relating. Miscommunication is the biggest contributing factor to conflict. In addition, our personality and values system largely determines our thoughts, words, and actions. So, by understanding our own work styles, patterns and preferences, and recognizing that others don't always share our ways, we begin to break down barriers and foster more productive behaviors. Understanding the drivers of human behavior helps us to reconcile where differences come from, how our behavior affects others, and how to take personal responsibility to get the most out of our interactions and improve our performance as leaders. We will identify strengths and opportunities with assessments, practice skills, and set goals for workplace and personal situations.
