Spanish for Health Professionals

Health Professionals, Learn Spanish Online!

Patient & Caregiver

These two courses will be offered again in early 2013; exact dates to be announced soon.

A key to delivering great healthcare and having satisfied patients is the communication between the staff and their Spanish-speaking patients. Miscommunication can cause misdiagnosis, poor treatment decisions, lack of trust, decreased patient satisfaction, missed appointments and noncompliance. Understanding basic Spanish and the cultural concerns encountered in a medical setting can grow a practice while ensuring better quality care.

Two online courses in Medical Spanish allow you to learn Spanish when and where it is convenient for you. Online conversations and one-to-one access to the native Spanish-speaking instructor will ensure your success as you receive individualized instruction that is typically only found in a classroom setting.

  •  Learn basic, practical and culturally-appropriate communication skills.

  • You choose:  Take Level I if you have little or no Spanish language skills. Start at Level II if you have some basic Spanish language skills.

  • Complete work and participate on any day, at any time within each module's timeframe.

  • Have one-to-one online conversations with the instructor to address your specific needs and questions related to your unique situation.
