This is the information age. Society is confronted with enormous advances in computer science, microelectronics, and telecommunications. There is a growing need for persons qualified to manage these information systems effectively and efficiently.

The Information Science Evening Degree (ISED) program at SUNY Oswego offers a unique program of study in the processing, management, and dissemination of information. Information Science, offered within the Liberal Arts curriculum, provides students with a firm understanding of the nature of information, the role of new technologies in the organization, the manipulation of information, and the ethics associated with the proper use and protection of that information.

As part of the major, each student, in cooperation with his/her advisor, creates a Learning Agreement for twelve hours of course work in a particular area of interest.
