Oswego Emeriti Association
Programs and Services

Through their many programs and projects, members of the the Emeriti Association play a leadership role in supporting the goals and plans of the University.

Highlights of Emeriti programs and projects include:

Emeriti Association Newsletter
Published twice a year, the newsletter is distributed to all Emeriti faculty and staff. The newsletter highlights current university news as well as providing emeriti with a vehicle for keeping in touch with one another by listing names and addresses as well as brief notes about who's doing what and where. For more information about the Emeriti Newsletter, click here.

Annual Emeriti Luncheon
Held each year on the first Monday of August, this popular event continues to attract a wide variety of retired faculty and staff. The 2003 luncheon was held in the Sheldon Hall Ballroom: 91 attended. Hold the date for next year’s luncheon, scheduled for Monday, August 2, 2004

Annual Meeting
All emeriti are invited to attend the annual business meeting of the association held at 9:30 a.m. before the annual luncheon.

Hall of Presidents
The Emeriti Association will continue to present portraits of Oswego’s presidents with the intent that their portraits would be housed and displayed in a Hall of Presidents. To date, the Association has completed five of the nine portraits; President Stanley, President Radley, President Perdue, President Brown and President Weber. The Historical Preservation Committee will proceed with the Sixth portrait, which will be determined soon. Thanks to the generosity of Will and Joan Schum the sixth Presidential Portrait will be of Harvey Rice.

Memorial Book Project
In recognition of professional achievement and years of service to SUNY Oswego, the Emeriti Association allocates funds to purchase memorial books in the names of deceased members of the Association. Each book which is housed in Penfield Library carries a bookplate with the name of the deceased member. Books purchased in the individual's discipline, are selected by Penfield's librarian staff.
