Wireless Configuration Instructions for iPhone/iPod Touch Devices

Please note the following steps are for the very first time you access the SUNY Oswego wireless network. This is a one-time configuration. After your device has been properly configured for the wireless network, you will simply authenticate with your Laker NetID to get connected.

1) While in a SUNY Oswego wireless-enabled space, start from the main screen of your mobile device and select "Settings" and then "Wi-Fi." Make sure "Wi-Fi" is set to "ON" and then select the "Oswego-Setup" network from the list of available networks. When you have successfully associated to this network, a checkmark will be listed next to it.

2) Launch Safari. If you don't see the "SUNY Oswego Wireless Configuration" web page, try going to another web address such as www.apple.com. The address you type should automatically re-direct to the "SUNY Oswego Wireless Configuration" page. If you still don't see it, try going to a website you don't go to very often.

3) From the "SUNY Oswego Wireless Configuration" web page, click on the "Click here to have your device automatically configured" link near the middle of the page.

4) You will see a welcome page with an "Oswego-Secure" link. Click on this link. You will get a message about using your Laker NetID for authentication and clicking an Install button. Click "OK."

5) You are now getting ready to install the wireless configuration profile needed to connect to the SUNY Oswego wireless network. Click the "Install" button to have the profile installed.

  1. If you receive a message about the authenticity of "Oswego-Secure" not being able to be verified, click the "Install Now" button.
  2. If you have a passcode set up on your device, you will be asked to enter it.
  3. You will also be asked to enter your username. Enter your Laker NetID username and click "Next."

6) The profile should now be installed and saved to your device. Click the "Done" button.

7) At this point, the profile is installed, but you will now need to connect to the "Oswego-Secure" network. A message will pop up indicating this. Click "OK" and you will then see a window with instructions on how to connect to "Oswego-Secure."

8) The next time you connect to the SUNY Oswego wireless network using your mobile device (and everytime thereafter), simply try connecting to an Internet service (like the WWW or email) and you should be prompted for your password. Enter your Laker NetID password and you are now connected to the Internet. If this does not happen, repeat step 7 to ensure you are connected to the "Oswego-Secure" network.
