Taking Steps for the Future
  1. Within Thunderbird, go to the Tools menu and choose Options.
  2. On the left, click on Composition tab, and then click the Addressing tab. 
  3. Check the box for Directory Server and then click the Edit Directories button. The LDAP Directory Server screen will appear.
  4. Click the Add button. The Directory Server Properties screen will appear.
  5. Under the Name field, type “Oswego LDAP”.
  6. Under the Hostname field, type “ldap.oswego.edu”
  7. Under the Base DN field, type “ou=people, dc=Oswego, dc=edu”.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Make sure the Directory Server checkbox is checked, and that "Oswego LDAP" is selected from the pulldown menu next to it.
  10. Click OK to close the preferences window.
