- Within Thunderbird, go to the Tools menu and choose Options.
- On the left, click on Composition tab, and then click the Addressing tab.
- Check the box for Directory Server and then click the Edit Directories button. The LDAP Directory Server screen will appear.
- Click the Add button. The Directory Server Properties screen will appear.
- Under the Name field, type “Oswego LDAP”.
- Under the Hostname field, type “ldap.oswego.edu”
- Under the Base DN field, type “ou=people, dc=Oswego, dc=edu”.
- Click OK.
- Make sure the Directory Server checkbox is checked, and that "Oswego LDAP" is selected from the pulldown menu next to it.
- Click OK to close the preferences window.
