Burning a backup CD for the first time
- Insert a blank CDR.
- Launch Nero via Start --> Programs --> Nero --> Nero 6 Ultra Edition --> Nero Burning ROM.
- In the left window pane, be sure CD-ROM (ISO) is selected.
- In the left pane, be sure Start Multisession Disk is selected. Click the New button.
- Go to the Edit menu and select Add Files. Using the Explorer window to navigate, add files and folders for the backup. (Alternatively, you can add files by dragging them from the right window pane to the left pane)
- In the Nero toolbar, click the Burn
button.
- If you wish to name the disc, click the Label tab.
- To burn the CD, click the Burn tab and then the Burn button.
- If you will be backing up these files and folders in the future, follow the directions below on "Saving a Compilation" once the burn is complete.
Saving a compilation for later backup sessions
A compilation is a record of which locations you've backed up and burned during a session. By saving your first backup session as a compilation, you will save time when performing future backups.
- In the Nero toolbar, click the Save
button.
- Give the compilation a meaningful name, and save it in an easy-to-find location by clicking the Save button.
- Close Nero Burning ROM.
Burning a backup using a saved compilation
- Insert a blank CDR.
- Launch Nero via Start --> Programs --> Nero --> Nero 6 Ultra Edition --> Nero Burning ROM.
- In the left window pane, be sure CD-ROM (ISO) is selected.
- Click the Open button. Use the window to navigate to your saved compilation.
- If you have added any files to the folders within the compilation, go to the File menu and choose Refresh Compilation.
- Make sure all three checkboxes in the Refresh Compilation window are checked and click the OK button. The compilation will now add new files and remove ones which are no longer present in their original folders.
- In the Nero toolbar, click the Burn
button.
- If you wish to name the disc, click the Label tab.
- To burn the CD, click the Burn tab and then the Burn button.
