I am a new employee at SUNY Oswego. How do I obtain an account?
- A completed I-9 and an appointment form with signatures needs to be sent to the Human Resources office by the hiring department.
- The data is then entered into SUNY Human Resources system and Banner (for campus ID #)
- Every Monday and Thursday evening, this data is extracted from Banner and sent to Instructional Technologies for account creation on Tuesday and Friday mornings.
- If steps 1 & 2 are completed promptly, the account should then be created within three business days.
If for some reason this standard procedure does not meet employee needs, arrangements for a temp account can be made through Campus Technology Services at x3055. These special processing requests will incur a $25.00 service fee, and will take approximately 3 business days to complete.
I just graduated or left college. When does my account expire?
Accounts are set to expire one year to the day you leave SUNY Oswego. You will receive monthly notifications via your email account beginning three months prior to the expiration date. These emails will contain instructions on how to renew your account.
Please be aware that if you allow the account to expire, any and all information in your account will be purged from the system. If you wish to keep your personal data, either back it up before the account expires, or renew the account promptly.
My password isn’t working.
- Passwords are case-sensitive. Check to make sure you do not have Caps Lock pressed down if using the keypad, make sure Num Lock is pressed down first.

If you recently had a password reset, it normally takes one hour for the change to register with the server. In a situation where the server is under a lot of stress, the duration could be longer. If your password is still not functioning within 24 hours after a reset, contact Technology Support Center for assistance.
How can I change my password?
- Log in to the CTS Account Tools page with your current CTS account username and password.
- Click on "Change Your Password".
- Fill in the fields with a new password and submit the form.
- After changing your password you may not be able to use this and other services that require this account for up to an hour.
If I forgot my password, how can I get it reset?
- If you have assigned the security question for your account then you can use the Online Password Reset Utility.
- Come to 26 Lanigan Hall during regular business hours. We will perform a reset for you once we have verified your identity -- for this, we require at least one form of picture I.D.
- Send CTS a notarized letter requesting the reset.
Your new password will take effect approximately one hour from the time it was reset.
Do you offer password resets via phone?
Unfortunately, due to security considerations we cannot allow password resets over the phone. We require a valid photo ID (not a photocopy), or a notarized letter as proof of identity.
