ResNet is SUNY Oswego’s residential network access system. At least one 100M copper RJ45 Ethernet connection is provided to each residence room on campus. There is a semesterly connection fee for ResNet of $49 per semester. By default all students that live in a residence hall on campus have the ResNet Connection fee added to their tuition bill (exception of GRM’s, Hall Directors, and Assistant Hall Directors – please call the HelpDesk at x3456 for the charge to be added to your bill for your personal computer), you must opt out of this fee by the first add/drop date each semester if you do not wish to have ResNet services. You can only opt out of the fee via MyOswego, the fee displays as “ResNet Connection” fee on your tuition bill on MyOswego.
Before arriving on campus in the Fall or Spring semester please make sure you do the following BEFORE returning to campus:
- Make sure you have current and up to date AntiVirus software running.

- Have ran anti-spyware software such as Ad-Aware, SpyBot Search and Destroy, Microsoft AntiSpyware to clean any spyware/adware you may have installed.
- Go to "Windows Update" in the Start Menu and install all "CRITICAL" updates.
