For those that choose not to subscribe to the ResNet service for Internet access in their residence hall room, we offer a dial-up modem pool connection free of charge. The modem pool operates at 56Kbps. |
There are a limited number of concurrent dial-up sessions that can be connected to the modem pool at any one time. If the modem pool has reached its maximum number of simultaneous connected users, you will receive a busy signal and will not be able to connect to the modem pool until someone else disconnects or their session times out. There is also a 90 minute time limit for using the modem pool. After 90 minutes of being connected to the modem pool, it will disconnect your session. This is to allow for everyone to have a fair chance of using the service.
