In the Fall 2007 semester we've implemented a new network registration system for our students to connect to ResNet.
Please note the automated network registration system will only work ON-CAMPUS when you first arrive in your residence hall (or when your get a new computer or Ethernet card). You can't use this system until you arrive on campus! Here's how it works:
-
Plug your computer's Ethernet card into the Ethernet port on the wall jack in your room (this is the blue jack in Hart, yellow jack in Johnson, and green jack in every other building)
-
Turn on your computer, and launch your web browser, (i.e., Firefox or Internet Explorer)
-
You should see the ResNet Registration page, if not type a website address. You will be re-directed to the Registration page regardless of what you type.
-
At the Resnet Registration page, you will be prompted to enter your user name and password (IT account) as well as read the Acceptable Use Policy. After reading the policy, click the Agree to Policy & Login button.
-
The next page presented is the Clean Access Download page, which explains also explains what Clean Access is. From here, click the Download Clean Access Agent button.
-
If presented with a security alert, click Yes.
-
In Internet Explorer a file download dialog will appear, click Save and select Desktop as a location to save to.

When finished, select Run, then select Run again at the Security Warning.
In Firefox, a file download dialog will appear, select Save File to download the file.

When finished, double-click the file on the desktop.
-
The Clean Access Agent Installer will open, from here click Next.
Click Next again at the Destination prompt, then click Install.
Click Finish to complete the installation.
-
The Clean Access Agent will open after the installation finishes. You will be prompted to enter your user name and password again (IT account), then click Login.
-
The next screen will prompt you to accept the Use Policy again. Click Accept if you agree to these terms.
-
The Clean Access Agent will now minimize to the system tray and you will be connected to Resnet.
-
If you would like to disconnect from Resnet, right click on the icon in the tray and select the Logout option.
