Your Laker NetID must be activated in order to take advantage of numerous services on campus, including LakerApps email, ANGEL, campus computer labs, and the Parking Office website.
To activate your Laker NetID, follow the steps appropriate to your current student classification:

Non-degree Undergraduate Students

  1. You will receive an email from the Registrar's office directing you to activate your Laker NetID.
  2. Go to http://www.oswego.edu/email to activate your Laker NetID. Once you've done so, you can use your Laker NetID credentials to access your LakerApps email account, myOswego, Parking Office website, campus computer labs, and ANGEL.
  • Please contact the Registrar's office at (315) 312-2136 if you did not receive an email from the Registrar's office, or need help with the required credentials for activating the Laker NetID.
  • Please contact the Help Desk at (315) 312-3456 if you are able to submit credentials, but still receive an error when activating your Laker NetID.

New Admits

  1. You will receive an acceptance letter from SUNY Oswego in your postal mail. This letter will direct you to login to myOswego, with credentials provided in the letter's text.
  2. In myOswego, complete your admissions deposit process.
  3. Wait one (1) business day for your payment to process.
  4. Go to http://www.oswego.edu/email to activate your Laker NetID. Once you've done so, you can use your Laker NetID credentials to access your LakerApps email account, myOswego, Parking Office website, campus computer labs, and ANGEL.
  • If you did not receive an acceptance letter, please contact the Admissions Office at (315) 312-2250.
  • If you receive an error when activating your Laker NetID, please contact the Help Desk at (315) 312-3456.

Graduate students

  1. You will receive acceptance materials from SUNY Oswego in your postal mail (if you will be in a degree program) or email (if you are a non-degree student) .
  2. If you have attended SUNY Oswego for prior credit, your Laker NetID already exists. No further action is necessary unless you're having login issues.
  • If you don't remember your Laker NetID, please contact the Help Desk at (315) 312-3456.
  • If you remember the Laker NetID, but don't remember your password, you can reset your password online at http://www.oswego.edu/reset.

Readmitted students

  1. You will receive a confirmation letter for readmission from SUNY Oswego in your postal mail directing you to activate your Laker NetID. You can at activate your Laker NetID at http://www.oswego.edu/email.
  2.  If you attended SUNY Oswego for undergraduate credit since Fall 2011, your Laker NetID already exists. If you never used or have forgotten your Laker NetID, follow the account activation procedure and it will be shared with you once you have entered the required credentials.

  • If you receive an error when activating your Laker NetID, please contact the Help Desk at (315) 312-3456.
  • If you don't remember your password, you can reset your password online at http://www.oswego.edu/reset.

Extended Learning high school student programs

  1. Once your registration form has been processed, you will receive an email via the email address you provided in the pre-registration form.
  2. Go to http://www.oswego.edu/email to activate your Laker NetID. Once you've done so, you can use your Laker NetID credentials to access your LakerApps email account and myOswego.
  • If you did not receive an email or a letter mailed to your home, please contact the Extended Learning Office at (315) 399-4100.
