Taking Steps for the Future

Details of the Campus Upgrade to Microsoft Office 2010/2011

The following links specify how various machines will be upgraded.  As of September 2011, the majority of campus machines have been upgraded.

Faculty and Staff College-Owned Machines
Faculty and staff scheduled to receive a new machine will already have Office 2010 or Office 2011 pre-installed.

Existing Windows PC users may opt to upgrade themselves at any time using the LANDesk Desktop Manager available on most faculty and staff College-owned computers to do so.   Just follow these instructions:

  1. When you are ready to install, quit out of all running applications.
  2. Go to your Start menu-> Programs->LANDesk Management -> Desktop Manager
  3. A new window will open up. Click the checkbox next to "Microsoft Office 2010 Installation with Settings."
  4. Click the "Deploy" button at the bottom left of the window.
    1. Note: It could take anywhere from 30-60 minutes for the upgrade to complete.  Your machine will automatically reboot when it has finished.
