Campus Technology Software

Taking Steps for the Future

 

Campus Technology Services (CTS) has purchased the following list of software products for the campus community. They are available for installation on faculty, staff, and/or student machines based on licensing. Please read the descriptions of each piece of software for availability and installation.

Note: These are all 32-bit versions only and not all of these software products are supported for use with Windows 8.

Currently licensed software includes:

 

ArcGIS- Geographic Information System software for building geographic information systems. For more information about this product, please visit the ArcGIS web site.

  • Current Version: Windows version 9.2
  • Available to: Faculty and Staff, Student use available in CTS general access labs in Snygg Room 6 and 8 only.
  • Installation On: SUNY Oswego computer as well as home personal computer (faculty and staff only)
  • Installation or Upgrade Process: Call the Technology Support Center at x3456.

 

Draft Builder -  For ANY faculty, staff, registered students taking or teaching classes or providing/ using student services in these buildings: Campus Center, Penfield, Mahar, Snygg (Spring 11 to present).  It assists writers plan what they are going to write about.  It breaks the writing process into three manageable steps: 1) brainstorming, 2) note-taking and 3) writing the first draft. 

 

Elluminate Plan!  -  Elluminate Plan! enables users to organize and package content and activities before the real-time Elluminate Live! session, automating routine tasks and allowing instructors to focus on delivering material, facilitating interaction, and optimizing the online learning experience.

 

 

Maple- Used to assist with mathematical problem solving including analyzers, calculators, plots and animators, and statistical analysis. For more information about this product, please visit the Maple website.

  • Available to: Faculty and Staff, Student use available in all CTS general access labs.
  • Installation On: SUNY Oswego computer (faculty and staff only)
  • Installation or Upgrade Process: Call the Technology Support Center at x3456. Note: Maple requires an annual license renewal to continue using the product.


Microsoft Office for Home Use - Business and productivity software used for documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more.  More information is available on the CTS MS Office site under the Microsoft Campus Agreement.

 

 

Minitab - Software used for mathematical statistics. For more information about this product, please visit the Minitab web site.

 

 

Read Out Loud -  is for ALL students registered in any class on the MAIN SUNY Oswego campus (any current or prior semester, Spring 11 to present). Also available to ANY faculty or staff serving students on MAIN SUNY Oswego campus (Spring 11-Present). It provides accessibility supports for most digital text formats like text-to-speech and study tools that help you read with comprehension.

 

SAS - Business Intelligence software used for business analytics. For more information about this product, please visit the SAS web site.

  • Operating Systems: Windows
  • Current Version: Windows version 9.2
  • Available to: Faculty and Staff, Student use available in CTS general access labs in Mahar, Snygg, and Penfield 24-hour room only.
  • Installation On: SUNY Oswego computers (faculty and staff), student personal computers by appointment.
  • Installation or Upgrade Process: Call the Technology Support Center at x3456. Note: SAS requires an annual license renewal to constinue using the product.

 

Skillport- Online courses used for professional development and classes. Our catalog includes a wealth of information technology and business related courses ranging from Microsoft Office to customer service, project management, and many more.

  • Installation On: Not applicable. Access is available through the web.

SOLO -   is for Curriculum and Instruction (MAIN campus C&I faculty, staff and registered students, (any current or prior semester, Spring 11- present).  It  is a literacy suite of the most popular assistive technology accommodations, including a text reader, graphic organizer, talking word processor, and word prediction.

 

 

Sophos AntiVirus - Software used to assist with preventing viruses and worms from being installed on your machine.

  • Operating Systems: Windows and Mac OS X
  • Current Version: Windows version 9.5, Mac version 9.5
  • Available to: Faculty, Staff, and Students
  • Installation On: SUNY Oswego computer as well as home personal computer
  • Installation or Upgrade Process: Available for download from the CTS Software Downloads page
