Taking Steps for the Future

These guidelines should be followed for any contractor/vendor that will be providing or ordering computer equipment for use at SUNY Oswego.

Following these guidelines will ensure that a consistent level of support is provided by Campus Technology Services and that the desktop/laptop equipment is standardized.

Standardizing on specific desktop and laptop configurations ensure that device drivers, vendor support, and software support is readily available should problems arise. In addition, CTS will also install all campus standard software on the equipment – which at the current time includes Windows 7, Office Suite, Acrobat Reader, etc.

Computer technology is constantly evolving, and as a result specific model numbers and configurations may no longer be available at the time of purchase. Because of this, you should contact the Help Desk at x3456 before purchasing any equipment or providing this information to any outside parties to verify the specifications below are current and accurate at the time.
