Select your operating system from the list below:
Windows 2000
- Click Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Display.
- Click the Screen Saver tab.
- Click the Power button.
- Under Power Schemes, select Home/Office Desk.
- Set Turn off monitor: to After 10 mins.
- Set Turn off hard disks: to After 1 hour.
- Click OK.
Windows XP
- Click Start --> Control Panel.
- If you are using Classic View,clickPower Options. If you are using Category View, click Performance and Maintenance --> Power Options.
- Under Power Schemes, select Home/Office Desk.
- Set Turn off monitor: to After 10 mins.
- Set Turn off hard disks: to After 1 hour.
- Click OK.

Mac OS X

Click Apple Menu --> System Preferences --> Energy Saver.

Click the Sleep tab.

Drag the indicator for Put the computer to sleep whenever it's inactiveforto 1 hr.

Drag the indicator for Put the display to sleep whenever it's inactiveforto 10 min.

Check the box labeled Put hard disks to sleep when possible.

Close the preference pane.
