Taking Steps for the Future
Duties:
As Network Technician, David James assists in the administration, maintenance and day-to-day operations of the SUNY Oswego Netw ork. This includes network monitoring, configuring network switches/router s, installation and maintenance of data communication cables, and maintaining ex ternal data connections for commodity Internet and private SUNYNet network conne ctions. David also assists with the administration of Windows and Solaris servers performing mission critical services such as DNS, DHCP, and authenticati on services. David also provides backup support for the Telecommunication Voice Technicians, assisting with phone switch and peripheral equipment. D avid has a special focus on wireless and academic data infrastructure.

Bio:
David joined Campus Technology Services in July 20 04. He holds a BA in Information Science from the SUNY Oswego. His most re cent appointment was with Stratton Mountain â Resort Business Systems. Other areas of interest are percussion, snowboarding and cycling.
