Duties: As Network Technician, David James assists in the administration, maintenance and day-to-day operations of the SUNY Oswego Network. This includes network monitoring, configuring network switches/routers, installation and maintenance of data communication cables, and maintaining external data connections for commodity Internet and private SUNYNet network connections. David also assists with the administration of Windows and Solaris servers performing mission critical services such as DNS, DHCP, and authentication services. David also provides backup support for the Telecommunication Voice Technicians, assisting with phone switch and peripheral equipment. David has a special focus on wireless and academic data infrastructure.

Bio: David joined Campus Technology Services in July 2004. He holds a BA in Information Science from the SUNY Oswego. His most recent appointment was with Stratton Mountain – Resort Business Systems. Other areas of interest are percussion, snowboarding and cycling.
