Sherman, Sullivan named third-team All-SUNYAC
Junior forward Brooke Sherman (Oswego) and junior defender Tricia Sullivan (Copenhagen) were Oswego State women’s soccer representatives on the 33-player All-SUNYAC Women’s Soccer Team announced by the conference office the weekend of the 2008 SUNYAC Championships in Oneonta, NY. Both players garnered third team accolades on the All-Conference team.

Oswego loses season finale in overtime to Scranton, 2-1
The Oswego State women’s soccer team registered the game-tying goal midway into the second half to force overtime, but host University of Scranton tallied the winning goal with two minutes remaining in the second overtime to come away with a 2-1 triumph over the Lakers in a night contest on Friday, Oct. 31.

Lakers home finale vs. Clarkson cancelled due to weather
The Oswego State women’s soccer team home finale versus Clarkson University, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 29 has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. A steady rain will continue throughout the day and evening in the Oswego area plus the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the majority of the Central New York area until 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The Lakers will conclude the 2008 season on Friday, Oct. 31 for a 7 p.m evening match at the University of Scranton.

Lakers overpowered on road by New Paltz, 6-0
The Oswego State women’s soccer team gave up three goals in the game’s opening 28 minutes and yielded three more in the second half en route to registering its eighth straight loss of the season, a 6-0 defeat at SUNY New Paltz, on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Oswego falls late in second half to Cortland, 2-1
The Oswego State women’s soccer team lost 2-1 to SUNY Cortland on Wednesday afternoon at Laker Field. The Lakers and Red Dragons were deadlocked at 1-1 for nearly 30 minutes, but Cortland sophomore Laura Bocher scored on a breakaway in the 69th minute for the decisive score.
