Head Coach Mike Holman
Michael Holman, a 1996 graduate of Oswego State, enters his third year as head coach of the men’s and women’s swimming and diving program. During his first two years, the Lakers have produced 12 All-American performances at the NCAA Division Championships, set 28 team records, and six SUNYAC records. Holman recently guided the women’s squad to a runner-up finish at the 2009 SUNYAC Championships, while the men’s team posted a fourth place finish. A four-year member of the Oswego State men’s swim team, Holman held the school record in the 400-yard individual medley during his years as a Laker.
Before returning to Oswego State, Holman served as the head coach of the Clinton Swim Club and as an assistant coach at Hamilton College. He has 15 total years of coaching experience in which he has trained age group, high school, and collegiate swimmers.
Holman earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Oswego State and received a master’s degree in sport management from Western Illinois University in 1999.

Diving Coach John Moore
Diving coach John Moore has been with the Laker program
since 1991. During that time, he has led the development of the Oswego divers into one of the top contingents in the SUNYAC. On
seven occasions, Moore’s divers have been named Diver of the Year at the SUNYAC Championships. He has trained 14 SUNYAC Champions and six NCAA
All-Americans, including returning four-time All-American Shawn Merlin and two
time All-American Eric Messina.
As a competitor, Moore swam for SUNY Morrisville and RIT. He has combined his
background in mechanical engineering with more than 24 years of coaching experience
to give him a unique ability to train and coach the Laker divers. In addition,
Moore serves as the Director of Engineering for Facilities and as an Adjunct
Professor at SUNY Oswego.
