Cavalcanti, Roorda named third-team All-SUNYAC

Sophomore forward Felipe Cavalcanti (Valatie/Ichabod Crane) and senior midfielder Mike Roorda (Rochester/Aquinas Institute) were Oswego State representatives on the 2008 All-SUNYAC Men’s Soccer team announced by the conference office during the weekend of the SUNYAC Championships in Oneonta, NY.  Both players were third team selections on the 33-player All-Conference team.

Lakers' SUNYAC playoff hopes dashed by Brockport in penalty kicks

The Oswego State men’s soccer team played even with host College at Brockport for 90 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute overtime sessions in the opening round of the SUNYAC playoffs, but the Golden Eagles won in penalty kicks, 3-1, to end the Lakers season and hopes of advancing to this weekend’s semifinals.

Junior midfielder Chris Carra (Endwell/Maine Endwell) scored the game’s only goal 14:19 into the first half to give the Oswego State men’s soccer team a 1-0 win over SUNY New Paltz in a rain-soaked SUNYAC finale on Saturday Oct. 25 on Laker Field.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Junior Mike Jock’s (Altona/Beekmantown) first-half goal held up and the SUNY Cortland men’s soccer team defeated Oswego State, 1-0, Wednesday night in SUNYAC action.
