Oswego State head coach Marushka Eddy begins her second year at the helm of the Lakers field hockey team in 2007. Eddy joined the Laker coaching staff in 2006 after a successful playing career at Plymouth State in Plymouth, N.H. and coaching experience at American International College in Springfield, Mass. The Lakers finished 3-14 in her first season as head coach and look to improve on that record this year.
Eddy is a graduate of Plymouth State where she played for the Panthers field hockey and women's lacrosse teams. Eddy played 60 games over four years in field hockey and recorded 20 points, 15 of which she scored during her senior year on six goals and three assists. Following her college playing career, she was an assistant coach for the field hockey team at American International College in 2005.
As a head coach, Eddy looks to build a Laker program with strong values.
"We will make a commitment to teamwork, patience, and dedication. Everything is going to take time," Eddy said. "Everyone has to do their share of the work. With all of the work that people are going to put in we will be successful on and off of the field. We are starting with a clean slate and that allows us to build a program with those ideals."
Eddy, a native of Nantucket, Mass., graduated from Plymouth State in 2004 with an undergraduate degree in Physical Education and will earn her master's degree in Physical Education from Springfield College later this year.
