WOMEN'S RACE RESULTS
MEN'S RACE RESULTS
The Oswego State cross country teams will host the Oswego State Invitational on Saturday. The day's competitive events include the Pat Peterson women's five-kilometer race at noon and the Don Masterson men's eight-kilometer race at 1 p.m.
Prior to those events, there will be an open five-kilometer available to the public and Oswego State alumni are encouraged to participate. Registration for the open run begins at 10 a.m. and the run will take place at 10:30 a.m.
The Oswego State Invitational course has undergone some changes for this year's event. The start/finish area is now located on the Hidden Athletic Fields, accessible off of Iroquois Trail on the Oswego State campus. The new course minimizes the amount of paved areas that runners will travel on during the races. The course is very flat and should yield fast times for participating student-athletes.
A total of 13 men's and women's teams will take part in the invitational on Saturday. Geneseo is the defending overall team champions and won both the men's and women's team competitions last year. They have swept the men's and women's races for each of the last five years. Last year's top individual finishers were Shannon Griggs of Geneseo and Erik Donohoe of St. Lawrence. Neither of them will be back to defend their titles, but both of last year's second-place finishers -- Liz Montgomery and Jesse Berube of Geneseo -- are on the entry list.
The complete list of participating schools includes Alfred, Buffalo State, Geneseo, Hobart and William Smith, Houghton, Ithaca, Keuka, Le Moyne, Mohawk Valley Community College, Oswego State, Potsdam, SUNYIT, and Utica.
The host Lakers will be led by Christopher Reich and Brittany Streeter, who were the top Oswego State finishers at last week's Walker Invitational at Buffalo State.
