Student-Athlete Advisory Council
Student-Athlete Advisory Council

Oswego's student-athletes play a vital part in campus life, whether engaged in sporting events, classroom learning or extracurricular activities. The Student-Athlete Advisory Council provides a student voice on athletic matters, builds bonds between participants in different sports and engages in worthy community activities.

SAAC board members take an active role in enhancing three types of communities -- a more vibrant and cohesive campus community for student-athletes, better integration and positive role models of student-athletes within the greater college community, and community-service efforts such as an annual leaf-raking day that helps senior citizens clean their yards in autumn. Events like an annual dodgeball competition provide fun, friendly competition among student-athletes.

The council's responsibilities include advising or expressing input on issues and policies regarding the quality of student-athlete life on campus. Through representation on Oswego's Intercollegiate Athetlics Board, SAAC offers guidance on local and NCAA rules, regulations and policies affecting student-athletes. Members also gain valuable insight on leadership and team-building while serving a greater good.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Council at Oswego has affiliate relationships with similar committees on the SUNY Athletic Conference level as well as the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
