Volleyball Takes Third Place At Home Invitational The Oswego State volleyball team won a pair of matches against Morrisville and D'Youville to claim third place at its' home tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Lakers defeated Morrisville 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-16, 25-21) and D'Youville 3-1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-15) to improve to 7-18 on the season.
Sophomore outside hitter Jess Isgro (Brockport, N.Y.) was named to the all-tournament team for her performance throughout the weekend.
 In the first match of the day, Isgro continued to hit well as she tallied 17 kills and seven service aces against Morrisville. Liz Crouch (Jr., Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) recorded 30 assists and nearly completed the double-double with nine digs. Shauna Westrack (Fr., Nesconset, N.Y.) amassed 28 digs as the libero followed by 12 digs from Katie van Kessel (So., Millbrook, N.Y.)
During the third place match versus D’Youville, Isgro added 22 kills to her weekend total and added 13 digs. No other Laker finished with double-digit kills. Westrack and Crouch posted 20 digs and 16 digs, respectively, while Crouch dished out 29 assists.
Oswego State return to competition on Tuesday, Oct. 20 when it faces SUNYIT on the road at 7 p.m.
