The Oswego State men's cross country team posted a solid seventh place showing out of 24 teams, while the women's squad finished 13th out of 23 teams at the Geneseo Invitational on Saturday.

Geneseo took first place in both the men’s and women’s race, as the men finished ahead of RIT and the women were ahead of Brockport.

Mike Bott (Jr., Camillus, N.Y.) and Rachel Sanborn (Fr., Liberty, N.Y.) were the top finishers for the men and women, respectively, as Bott posted a time of 27:09 in the 8K race and Sanborn clocked a time of 24:11 in the first 6K race of the season.  It was Bott and Sanborn’s fourth straight race as the Lakers’ top finishers.  Sanborn’s time was also the fourth fastest time in school history at the 6K distance.

The women had a strong showing despite having only six runners able to compete at the race.
