Men's Golf Places Fourth At Rain Shortened Elmira Invitational
The Oswego State men's golf finished the first day of the Elmira Invitational in fourth place with a team score of 329, which was where the Lakers stayed after rain and lighting forced the cancellation of the second round on Monday.

Jeff Boeckl (Jr., Gaithersburg, Md.) led the team with a round of 78 for a sixth place individual finish followed by Patrick Davidow’s (Jr., Valhalla, N.Y.) total of 80, which was tied for tenth place.

Joe Barron (So., Chittenango, N.Y.) was tied for 16th after firing a total of 82.  Other scores from the round included 89 from Nick Sterling (Fr., Gouverneur, N.Y.), 90 from Dana Tarantelli (Fr., Saranac Lake, N.Y.), and 93 from Dustin Lallier (Fr., Gouverneur, N.Y.).

St. John Fisher won the event with a team total of 309, which was three strokes better than Durham’s score of 312.  Roberts Wesleyan was six strokes ahead of Oswego State in third place at 323.

The Lakers will compete at the ECAC Upstate/Metro Championships on Oct. 3 and 4 at the Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor, N.Y.
