Men Finish Third, Women Place Fifth At Houghton Cross Country Invite Both Oswego State cross country teams continued to perform well this fall as the men's squad placed third and the women's squad finished fifth at the Houghton Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.
The Laker men finished behind RIT and Ithaca in third place, while junior Mike Bott (Camillus, N.Y.) led Oswego State for the second straight meet with a time of 26:55 in the 8K race. Bott’s result is tied for the ninth fastest 8K time in school history.
Samson Dikeman (Jr., Altamont, N.Y.) was the next Laker to cross the finish line as he clocked a time of 27:09. Freshman Rachel Sanborn (Liberty, N.Y.) paced the Oswego State women as she finished 18th overall in 20:09.
The other noteworthy performance of the day came from senior Cody Netzband (Cleveland, N.Y.), who posted a new personal best time of 29:11 despite sitting out practice this week with the flu.
The Lakers compete at the Geneseo Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 3.
