Laker Women's Swimming and Diving honored as Scholar All-America Team
The Oswego State women’s swimming and diving team was recently recognized as a NCAA Division III Scholar All-America team by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the 2008-09 season. In order to be named on the SPEEDO All-Academic list, teams must have had a combined team grade point average of 3.00 or higher during the Spring 2009 semester.
The Laker women were one of three SUNYAC teams honored among 83 Division III Institutions with a combined 3.31 GPA. SUNY New Paltz (3.47) and SUNY Geneseo (3.29) were the other conference representatives. Oswego State also had a pair of individual academic winners as junior Kelly Williams (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) and sophomore Kara Sitnik (Bridgeport, N.Y.) were honorable mention selections.
The CSCAA produces the All-Academic list twice each year. The spring list also recognizes individual All-Academic team honorees that are selected on the basis of their performance in the pool and the classroom.
