Mike Recor named an NCAA Division III Honorable Mention All-American
Oswego State men’s lacrosse senior midfielder Mike Recor (Kirkville/East Syracuse-Minoa) has been named an honorable mention All-America selection by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) in its announcement of its 2009 NCAA Division III All-America Teams. Recor, who recently graduated from Oswego with a degree in business administration, is only the sixth player in the program’s history and first since 2004 to receive All-America accolades.
A first team All-State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) honoree earlier this month, Recor scored a team-leading 37 goals and finished second in scoring with 43 points in helping the Lakers to an 8-9 overall record and a 5-2 mark on conference play, reaching the SUNYAC semifinals for the third time in school history. He completed his three-year collegiate career at Oswego State with 75 goals and 12 assists.
Recor will be among a group of individuals from NCAA Division I, II, and III institutions recognized by the USILA at the annual All-American reception on Saturday, May 23 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place, as part of the four-day NCAA Men’s Lacrosse championship weekend. He is the second Laker lacrosse player this month to be honored by the USILA. Classmate and fellow midfielder Mike Brewster will play in the 67th annual North/South All-Star game on Friday, May 22 at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.
Recor is the son of Hope and Mike Recor, Sr. of Kirkville, NY.
