Oswego State freshman forward Chad Burridge (Hannibal/Hannibal) and senior guard Tommy Downing (Staten Island/Curtis), have each been honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) on its 2008-09 Division III Upstate All-Star Team. Burridge was named the ECAC Division III Upstate Rookie of the Year, while Downing garnered second team honors.

Burridge, who earned Rookie of the Year honors from the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and East Region Rookie of the Year accolades from D3hoops.com last month, registered a single-season school record 85 blocked shots, finished second in rebounding with 267 (9.9 pg), and third in scoring with 377 points (14.0 pg). He ranked among the conference leaders in four categories, including a first place finish in blocked shots (3.00 pg).

Downing, who earned first team All-SUNYAC honors as well as being named second team All-East region by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), finished second on the Lakers in scoring, with 477 points (17.7 pg), and third in rebounding with 91 (3.4 pg). He was one of two players this season to surpass 1,000 career points, finishing ninth on the all-time scoring list with 1,337 points.

Oswego State finished the season with a 16-11 overall record, and a 11-5 mark in SUNYAC play, earning them a share of the regular season conference title. They reached the semifinals of both the SUNYAC championship tournament and the ECAC Upstate championship.
