School records, personal records met at ECAC Division III Championships
The Oswego State indoor track and field teams competed at the ECAC Division III Championship meet, hosted by Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass.
Two exceptional individual performances highlighted the meet, as Ray Richardson jumped 14.26 meters in the triple jump to tie the Oswego State record and finish fourth in the event in a field of nearly 60 men’s teams. The distance was also a national provisional qualifying distance.
On the women’s side, Megan Boggan shattered her personal best time with a time of 1:00.13 seconds in the 400 meter dash. She also ran in the 4 x 220 yard relay with Julie McCloskey, Rebekah Grant, and Jamie Finnegan, who placed 13th out of 29 teams with a time of 1:50.34, over a second faster than their prior week’s effort at the NYSCTC meet. Heidi Armstrong placed 15th out of 34 women in the weight throw missing her personal best by just 3 cm.
The men’s 4 x 220 yard relay team of Andy English, Eric Wasacz, A.J. Carapella, and Anthony Raju finished 13th out of 21 teams with a new school record of 1:34.55. Shomari Felder tied for seventh in the high jump to earn points for the Laker men, who finished 38th out of 58 schools in that competition.
