The Laker defense held the Cougar offense to 5-for-30 shooting in the first half as they established a 43-20 halftime lead. Oswego State improved to 2-1 on the season, while Medgar Evers dropped to 1-2 overall. The Mustangs held a 1-0 lead after the first period, but the Lakers scored the next eight goals to cruise to the victory. Oswego State improved to 8-1-0 overall and 6-0-0 in the SUNYAC, while Morrisville dropped to 3-5-0 overall and 2-4-0 in the league.Dana Calderone netted the first goal of the game as he gave Morrisville an early 1-0 lead at the 12:18 mark in the first period, which was where the score remained heading into the first intermission. Laker goaltender Emi Williams (Jr., Anchorage, Alaska) turned in a strong performance between the pipes as she compiled 35 saves on 37 shots. Oswego State improved to 3-3-0 overall and 2-3-0 in conference play, while the Bengals fell to 2-4-0 overall and 2-2-0 in ECAC West competition. Buffalo State ended a scoreless tie at 13:02 in the second period when Courtney Carnes scored one minute into a power play with assists credited to Rio Flynn and Kailyn Murray.  The Lakers answered with a power play goal of their own at the 17:13 mark as captain Angie Friesen (Sr., Chilliwack, B.C.) picked up her first goal of the season.  Kelly Collins (So., Fairport, N.Y.) earned an assist on the play as the squads skated into the final intermission tied 1-1. The Lakers out-rebounded the Gothic Knights 44-19 and shot 50 percent from the field on 25-for-50 to came away with their first win of the season. Chad Burridge (So., Hannibal, N.Y.) led all scorers with 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting, while teammate Hayden Ward (Fr., Montauk, N.Y.) corralled 17 rebounds. Oswego State clung to a 27-25 lead before putting together a 9-1 run behind a three-pointer by Jose Uribe (Jr., Queens, N.Y.), a layup by Hayden Ward, and four points from senior Stanley Francois (Valley Cottage, N.Y.) to go ahead by 10 points at 36-26 with 2:39 remaining in the first half.  However, New Jersey City scored the final five points of the period to head into the locker room trailing 39-33 despite 22 Laker turnovers. The difference in the game came from the Lakers’ supporting cast as their bench outscored the Mustangs 15-0. Oswego State improved 1-1 overall, while Morrisville fell to 0-2 overall. Williams made 71 saves to keep the Lakers in both games versus ninth-ranked Neumann Knights despite a 4-2 loss and a 3-2 overtime loss. Second half shooting proved to be the difference in the contest as the Pioneers shot 55.2 percent from the field on 16-of-29 shooting, while the Lakers went 14-of-39 for 35.9 percent. Utica forward Patrick Goodman led all players with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Oswego State was led offensively by Chad Burridge's (So., Hannibal, N.Y.) 25 points.The first half was a seesaw battle that featured seven ties as neither team held a lead greater than four points after the first minute of play.  Kevin Johnson went coast-to-coast for a layup after grabbing a defensive rebound with 38 seconds left in the period to give the Pioneers a slim 37-35 lead at halftime. The Lakers moved to 7-1-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the conference after recording a 5-1 win at Cortland and defeating previously unbeaten Utica 3-2 at home.Fox registered one goal and two assists, including an assist on the game-winning goal, against the Red Dragons. On Saturday, he scored the eventual game-winning goal to hand the Pioneers their first loss of the season.  He is tied for second on the team in scoring at 17 points on six goals and 11 assists. Senior Jenna Kirkwood (Chilliwack, B.C.) tied the contest for the Lakers late in the second period to send the game into the extra period. Oswego State dropped to 2-3-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the ECAC West, while the Knights improved to 4-1-1 overall.It was a high scoring first period as Neumann notched the first goal of the game at the 3:22 mark when Jessica Schroeder scored her fourth goal of the season.  Jillian Bergeron (Brockville, Ont.) recorded her second goal of the series for the Lakers with assists going to Aprilyn Gush (Sr., Carleton Place, Ont.) and Meagan Big Snake (Siksika, Alberta) three minutes later.  The Knights regained a 2-1 lead with 10:39 elapsed in the frame when Holly Williams tallied a power play goal.
