Role of the Class/Group Volunteer...
Reunion Weekend is by far one of the most exciting programs offered by the Oswego Alumni Association. Reunion 2012 brought a crowd of 800 alumni and friends to Oswego for a weekend of great fun and reminiscing!

The level of participation and the number of classmates and favorite faculty returning to Oswego for this event are in large part due to the work of the Reunion Class Volunteers — their creativity, enthusiasm and networking. Planning begins in the Fall and continues right up to Reunion Weekend. It is NOT necessary to be able attend meetings to play an active role in the weekend's planning! Most of our communication and "discussion" can take place via phone, email, mail, etc. Most importantly, we need your INPUT and IDEAS! We also have TONS of fun planning the weekend's activities!
The campus planning meetings will be held on Saturdays: Nov. 3, Dec. 1, Jan. 12, Feb. 9 and April 13 starting at 10 a.m. in King Alumni Hall. We encourage the entire committee to be at the meetings but we do make accommodations for those who can't come in person to attend via conference calls.
Alumni interested in serving on the Reunion Giving Committee should email the Development office at develop@oswego.edu for more information.
The main charge for Reunion Class Volunteers is:
• Reach out to and encourage your classmates to come back for Reunion - network; contact fellow classmates by email, phone, Facebook, etc.
• Probably the BIGGEST draw - help us plan an activity with your fellow class volunteers that is solely for your group (eg: a class party, picnic, reception, etc.)
YOU can make the real difference in whether or not your classmates will put forth the extra effort to be in Oswego for the weekend of June 6-9, 2013. Here are just a few suggestions as to how you can help us increase your class participation:
1. A letter, phone call or email originating from class volunteers - contact five of your friends and ask them to do the same, etc.
2. A flyer, letter or email from you to classmates encouraging them to attend Reunion. (We'll handle the design and sending for you here in the Alumni Office, as long as you help us with the ideas!).
3. Xerox copies of your senior picture page from your yearbook, and send that with a note to class friends.
4. Contact classmates you know from respective geographic regions and ask them to contact classmates they know.
5. Holiday cards are a great way to promote Reunion!
6. Connect with friends and classmates on Facebook.
7. Any other type of gimmick, round robin, or chain letter/email type of contact idea you can come up with.
8. Work with all of your classmates to help us locate "LOST" members of your class.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS YOUR PERSONAL TOUCH AND INVOLVEMENT -- OUTREACH FROM A CLASS MEMBER IS MUCH MORE PERSONAL!
