The third annual Women's Connections symposium will bring a varied group of alumni to campus next month.
Speakers will discuss challenges and entrepreneurship opportunities for women in business among other topics during the daylong event. Jill Consor Beck '93, Rosemary Cardamone Crane '81 and Robert Feinberg '78 are expected to appear Oct. 7.
"It's a great marriage of showcasing the success of our alumni and bringing women from the community to campus," said Nancy Potter Bellow '78, executive director for the college's Office of Business and Community Relations. "This year's theme is about vision and passion in business."
Beck is a senior product manager for Microsoft in Seattle. The Oswego accounting major recently diversified her international professional portfolio with the launch of Purple Teeth Cellars, the winery she founded with her husband, Marc, a few years ago.
Crane enjoyed a successful career in the health care industry, culminating in a position as vice president at Johnson & Johnson. She and her husband, Doug '80, are active donors to the School of Business and the new School of Communication, Media and the Arts.
An Oswego School of Business graduate, Feinberg's interest in the perspectives of women and the challenges they face in the workplace has roots in his upbringing with five sisters. The Ernst & Young partner also has three daughters of his own.
Feinberg and his company established a five-year visiting lectureship for the Women's Studies Program in 2004. The matching funds pay for a visiting professor to teach two courses in the program and mentor students.
The Connections program will also feature a marketplace dedicated to women-owned businesses from across the Central New York region.
