SUNY Oswego Office of Business and Community Relations will be hosting the
second annual Connections: Moving Women to Power symposium Oct. 25 in Hewitt
The symposium features talks by successful women on how to overcome the
challenges women face in the working world, entrepreneurship, finance and
health and wellness. There will also be a women’s marketplace featuring all
women-owned businesses, and products and services especially for women.
"Our purpose is to get women from Central New York to come and get energized
about their potential and from SUNY Oswego’s perspective, we couldn’t have a
better forum to bring as many powerful alumnae back to talk to other women,"
said Executive Director of Business and Community Relations and Planning
Nancy Potter Bellow '78.
Speakers will include Joni Daniels ’77, Julia DeVillers ’89
and Carrie Lazarus. Daniels is a consultant, trainer and entrepreneur, as
well as author of Power Tools for Women: Plugging into the Essential Skills
for Work and Life. Devillers is the author of books that empower young
girls such as The Dorm Survival Guide. Lazarus is a News Channel 9
co-anchor and her “Carrie’s Family Healthcast” was one of the first daily local

continental breakfast. The program will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with lunch
