At this year’s Louis A. Borrelli Jr.
Media Summit, set for Oct. 17, top names in the media industry will convene
on the Oswego State campus to discuss how new technologies and new generations
are creating the media of the future.
The daylong event features classroom visits and small discussions with
panelists, highlighted by a panel presentation at 3 p.m., to be moderated by
Al Roker ’76 of NBC’s “Today” show.
The Media Summit was founded in 2005 by a leadership gift from Chief
Executive Officer of NEP Broadcasting Louis A. Borrelli Jr. ’77. This
year, Roker provided additional funding to name future summits in memory of
longtime professor Dr. Lewis B. ‘Doc’ O’Donnell, who had a profound impact on
the college experiences of both Roker and Borrelli.
This year’s panelists include Paul Condolora ’82, senior vice
president and general manager for Cartoon Network New Media; Geraldine B.
Laybourne, founder, chair and CEO of Oxygen Media; Doug McMonagle, regional
director of Inergize Digital Media; Shelly Palmer, managing director of
Advanced Media Ventures Group LLC; and Russell Quy, vice president and
executive producer for IMG Media.
Tickets will be available beginning Oct. 4 by contacting the Tyler box
office at 315-312-2141 or tickets@oswego.edu. Tickets to the summit are
free but required due to limited seating.
