Two members of the Oswego State volleyball team have recently added their
names to the Laker record book.
Amanda Cipriano '09 of Solvay set a single-match record with 34 digs
in a five-game win over St. John Fisher Sept. 19. Cipriano also had 10 kills
that night as Oswego State lost the first two games before rallying for the
win. Game scores were 21-30, 24-30, 30-28, 30-22, 15-8.
Heidi Armstrong '08, also from Solvay, is now the career leader in
kills for the Oswego State volleyball program. She eclipsed the former record
of 1,168 kills, held by Erin Hanlon '05, who is now one of the assistant
coaches for the volleyball team. Armstrong set the record in a win over Buffalo
State in SUNYAC West Pool Play Sept. 21. She had 13 kills in that match, and
went on to finish the weekend's action with 1,195 career kills.
Through 19 matches, Oswego State had a record of 6-13 on the year. The
Lakers are coached by Pat Hanlon.
