Oswego State field hockey forward Kelly Collins '12 and midfielder Sarah Budde '11 have been named to the 2008 State University of New York Athletic Conference All-Conference team.

Collins garnered first-team accolades and was also named SUNYAC Rookie of the Year, while Budde claimed second-team honors.

The first-team selection is the fourth for an Oswego field hockey player since SUNYAC reintroduced field hockey as a conference sport and the first since Robyn Bramoff '04 and Jayme Cooley '03 earned the honor in 2002.

Collins, who joined the Lakers this fall after a year at Taft Prep School, started in 15 of 16 games and was the team's top scorer with nine goals and nine assists for 27 points.

In SUNYAC play, she was second in scoring with 17 points on seven goals and three assists.  She registered multi-goal performances in three conference contests, scoring a season-high three goals and two assists in a 5-1 triumph over New Paltz, accounting for all of the scoring for Oswego in a 2-1 win over Oneonta State, and scoring twice and adding an assist during an 8-4 loss to SUNY Brockport.

Budde started in 14 games on the season and finished sixth in scoring with a pair of goals and three assists for seven points.  Both goals came in a 6-0 shutout victory over Wells College in the team's home finale.  She also registered a team-leading nine defensive saves as the Lakers' last line of defense aside from the goalkeeper.

Oswego State finished the 2008 season with a 4-12 overall record and a 2-4 record in SUNYAC play under first-year coach Brandi Ostrander.
