A new central location, a set-up to rival any mainstream retail space and products perfect for any Oswego student, grad or fan can only mean one thing:

The opening of the new one-stop shop for all things Oswego in the new Campus Center.

Store Director Susan Raby said that the reaction to the new space has been overwhelmingly positive.  “The hockey crowd has been very enthusiastic,” she said.  And with its doors directly across from the ice arena entrance, the store’s location couldn’t be more ideal for die-hard Laker supporters.

A name is still in the works for the new location, but the store is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. during the academic year.  Employees stay later during the hockey season to meet demands for Laker memorabilia. 

Available merchandise includes Oswego sweatshirts, T-shirts and other clothing items; greeting cards, journals and seasonal stock; items especially for alumni; and much more.  The store boasts a large display window and inviting glass doors.  With its high-quality display fixtures and warm lighting, the new retail store makes for a truly exciting shopping experience.  Employees have even overheard customers equating the space with the Disney Store. 

Store employees are also pleased with the results.  “We love it,” said Clothing and Supplies Manager Francie Proud, noting how bright the new space is.  The latest Oswego apparel – from faux fur-lined sweatshirts to more form-fitting T's for women – is also competitive with that of the most cutting-edge retailers.

Raby expressed her pride with the project as well.  “The whole (Campus Center) complex is worth checking out,” she said.  “And while you’re here, stop in to visit us and maybe update your wardrobe.”

The College Store in Hewitt Union will remain open to sell textbooks, art supplies, and computer and office supplies.  A third location in downtown Oswego celebrated its grand opening Oct. 31 with a gallery display of student artwork.
