The Lakers trailed 3-0 in the first ten minutes of the Morrisville game last Saturday, but charged back behind a hat trick from Tyler Leimbrock ’13 and two goals from Neil Musselwhite ’10.

Morrisville put up the game’s first goal after a rare Oswego State turnover and the Mustangs added two more scores before the period was over.

Oswego State got on the scoreboard when Leimbrock pounded home the rebound from a Musselwhite shot. The Lakers cut the deficit in half minutes later when Musselwhite tapped in another goal to make the score 3-2 at the first intermission.

Morrisville regained its two-goal advantage early in the second period, but the Lakers responded quickly when Leimbrock netted his second goal of the game on his way to a hat trick on the evening.

Musselwhite beat two Morrisville defenders to the puck after causing the turnover for the breakaway.  His shot got past Relkoff broke the 4-4 tie and gave Oswego State its first lead of the game 27 seconds into the third stanza.

SUNYAC Rookie of the Year Jon Whitelaw ’13 gave the Lakers a 6-4 edge when Relkoff came out of the crease to play the puck. Oswego State later capitalized on its eighth power-play chance of the game when SUNYAC MVP Eric Selleck ’12 posted his 21st goal of the season to go ahead 7-4.  Kevin Huinink '11 sealed victory for the Lakers when he scored an empty-net, short-handed goal with a minute remaining.
