Gift Planning

Holidays Are a Good Time to Consider Legacy Gifts

The Oswego College Foundation planned giving Web site has added improved content to share with potential donors.

“Someone in their 40s isn’t going to be interested in the same information as someone in their 70s,” Director of Finance Mark Slayton said. “So we’ve improved the site to show more age-specific content.”

Now those considering a planned gift to Oswego can find information for one of four age-specific groups. Each section essentially provides a concise checklist of considerations — whether the audience includes parents sending their children to college or soon-to-be retirees updating their wills.

A “Planned Gift Toolbox” allows donors to explore and determine their best options.

Whatever the donor's personal circumstances, planned gifts enhance SUNY Oswego’s ability to support scholarships and continued facility improvements.

“We do consider it the ultimate gift,” Slayton said. “These are gifts that have always made a significant impact on SUNY Oswego students.”
